Android phone IPTV means watching live TV, film and series content on mobile devices. This page covers installing a player from the store, adding an M3U playlist, mobile data and Wi-Fi checks, battery settings, casting to a screen and simultaneous device scope.
To use IPTV on an Android phone you need a player installed from the store, the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login details shared with the subscription and a stable internet connection. Setup takes a few minutes; once the channel list is loaded the favourite layout can be created.
The most common problem on mobile devices is battery optimisation restricting the player in the background. Removing the app from battery restrictions and allowing background data access prevents the stream from being cut off. Using Wi-Fi instead of mobile data affects both quality and data consumption positively. For transfer from the phone to the television Smart TV IPTV and Android TV IPTV pages guide you.

Setup on an Android phone is completed in four steps: installing the player, defining the login details, adjusting battery and background settings and testing the stream. When the steps are followed in order, playlist loading errors and stream dropouts are largely prevented.
A suitable player is installed from the app store. If the Android version is old the store may suggest a current version; make sure there is enough storage.
The M3U playlist or Xtream Codes details are added to the player, the channel list is loaded and the favourite layout is created. If there are many channels, loading may take a few seconds.
The player is removed from battery optimisation restrictions and background data access is allowed. In this way the app is not restricted when the screen turns off and on.
A short test stream is played over Wi-Fi or mobile data; if casting will be used, a connection to the television on the same network is tried and the switching speed is assessed.
On phones battery saving can restrict the player running in the background and cause the stream to be cut off. Removing the app from restrictions is usually enough. For details see the IPTV freezing and M3U setup pages.
The items below summarise the points to check before setup on Android phones and tablets; each row marks a step that has a counterpart in the device settings or inside the player.
| Check item | Why it matters | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| BasicAndroid version and storage | Some players may not install on older versions. | Check the version and free storage in the Settings section. |
| AppPlayer permissions | If the required permissions are not granted, the playlist will not load or playback will not start. | Check the notification and storage permissions. |
| BatteryBackground restrictions | Battery optimisation can restrict the player in the background. | Remove the player from battery restrictions and allow background data. |
| NetworkMobile data and Wi-Fi | A high-resolution stream consumes mobile data quickly. | Prefer Wi-Fi or lower the quality setting: Wi-Fi problems. |
| CastingCasting connection | If the phone turns off during casting, the stream is cut off. | Keep the phone and television on the same network; for long use prefer the television app. |
| ScopeSimultaneous device scope | Watching on a second screen at the same time requires a separate subscription per screen. | Choose how many screens you need and single-device IPTV and multi-connection IPTV pages. |
| SupportProgramme guide (EPG) matching | If the guide does not match, programme times and channel information will not appear. | Set the guide source and refresh the list: EPG setup. |
The items in the table summarise the checks that can be done on the Android phone side. For subscription terms (duration options, the 3-hour trial and the 3-day refund) see the IPTV prices and refund and subscription terms pages.
The subscription used on an Android phone is offered in three duration options and each subscription is defined for 1 simultaneous device. If viewing on a television as well as the phone is planned, a separate subscription is taken per screen.
3-month subscription
30 EUR single simultaneous device
To try the setup on the phone and for short-term use.
6-month subscription
50 EUR single simultaneous device
For medium-term use once your favourites are set up.
12-month subscription
80 EUR single simultaneous device
The lowest monthly cost for long-term use on a phone or tablet.
Subscriptions are defined for a single simultaneous connection. Users who want to watch on a second device at the same time need a separate subscription per device.
For 2 devices the total is 60 EUR for 3 months, 100 EUR for 6 months and 160 EUR for 12 months; for 3 devices it is calculated as 90 / 150 / 240 EUR.
The trial period is 3 hours and the refund period for subscriptions is 3 days. The details of the terms are on the refund and subscription terms page.
The total is calculated per subscription (number of devices × the price of one subscription). For the period options see the IPTV prices page, for a side-by-side comparison the package comparison page and for the trial terms the IPTV trial pages.
A suitable player is installed from the app store, the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login details shared with the subscription are defined and the channel list is loaded. After setup, the app's battery and background data settings are checked so that playback is not interrupted.
High-resolution broadcasts consume mobile data quickly. If your plan has a data cap, watching over Wi-Fi or lowering the quality setting inside the player is more suitable. If constant freezing occurs, the connection quality and signal strength should be checked.
Yes, phone content can be transferred to the television by casting or Chromecast-style methods. During casting the phone must stay on and on the same network; the subscription scope still applies to a single screen. For longer viewing a television or an external player is more practical.
Phone manufacturers' battery optimisation can cut the stream by restricting background apps. Removing the player app from battery restrictions and allowing background data access usually solves the problem.
Some players may not install on older Android versions; a current version and enough storage make setup easier. On devices with low memory, closing background apps speeds up channel switching.
The trial period is 3 hours; during this time you can test channel switching, stream quality and mobile connection performance. The refund period for subscriptions is 3 days; the details of the terms are on the refund and subscription terms page.
Each subscription is defined for 1 simultaneous device; watching on a phone and a television at the same time requires a separate subscription per device. The total for 2 devices is calculated as 60 EUR for 3 months, 100 EUR for 6 months and 160 EUR for 12 months.
